Terms for your star or ornament
Version 2026-10-26. When you request a star or an ornament, or its files, you confirm what's on this page.
Your photos
When you add photos to a star or an ornament and request it, you confirm that:
- You may use each photo. You took it yourself, or whoever took it (for example a photographer, a friend or a studio) has allowed you to have it printed for your own use.
- The people in it agree. Everyone who can be recognised in a photo is happy to be on your star or ornament. For a child, that's their parent or guardian.
- It's lawful. The photos don't break anyone's rights or the law: nothing that infringes copyright or someone's privacy, nothing hateful or sexual, and nothing that shows children in an inappropriate way.
What we do with your photos
- We store them in your account, show them only to you (and to the people you share it with), and use them only to make your star or ornament: to show it on screen, to make the print files, to print, cut and send it, and to answer your questions.
- If you ask for a first draft, our own server looks for faces in your photos to place them well. That stays on our server and in your project; it never goes to anyone else and is removed with the photo.
- We never publish your photos, use them in advertising, give them to anyone else or sell them.
- You can delete a photo, a star, an ornament or your whole account at any time. A requested star or ornament is kept as long as we need it to make, send and account for your order.
If a photo isn't yours to use
- If we have good reason to think a photo breaks these terms or the law, we may refuse to print it or cancel the request, and we'll tell you why.
- If someone else claims a photo on your star or ornament infringes their rights, and you knowingly or carelessly broke what you confirmed above, you are responsible to them, and you cover our reasonable costs of dealing with the claim.
- If you find a photo of yourself or a photo you own on a star or ornament you didn't agree to, reply to any email from MyChristmasStar. We'll look at it straight away and stop printing it if needed.
Digital files
- The files are for you: print, score and cut them, build your star or ornament, keep it or give it as a gift.
- Please don't sell the files or the design, or share the files with others.
Printed stars and ornaments
- You check and approve every page before we print. Colours on paper look a little different from a screen.
- Each star and ornament is made just for you from your own photos.
